Whispers pay for Heart of the Forest perks. Forest Whispers pay for the first tiers and Desert Whispers for tiers 4 to 8. Both come from cutting trees, Tree Gifts and contests: Agatha's Contest gives Forest Whispers and Miria's Contest gives Desert Whispers. Excess HotF EXP also turns into Forest Whispers.
