Very early, sell spare crops, sand and redstone to NPCs. At SkyBlock Level 7 the Bazaar opens, so you can use buy orders and sell orders. The wiki community guide lists NPC flipping, Bazaar flipping (Sand, Ice, Flint, Gunpowder), Glowing Mushroom farming with Chum Buckets, Ender Node mining and events as early methods.
